Invest two hours and eight bucks to see Food.Inc. Its message is simple and frightening: our food supply has changed more in the last 50 years than it has in the last 10,000. It's poisoning us. And it's complex and shocking. In some states, criticizing unsafe food can bring a lawsuit so expensive to fight you'll be bankrupt in six months.
This is not a Michael Moore or a Bill Maher joint. Some of its main spokespersons are the mother of Kevin Kowalcyk, who died in 12 days at the age of two because he ate hamburgers, Eric Schlosser, and Michael Pollan.
If you're at all like me (and I think you are), after you've seen this film you'll probably never again feel entirely comfortable eating in a restaurant again. I'm pretty certain you won't let your kids or grandkids eat another Happy Meal.
Please let me know your reaction to this film. The producers believe that we can make a difference. I hope so.
