Want to meet the next Warren Buffett?

I had occasion to visit the Gig Harbor Farmers Market Saturday: crafts, food, products, music, plants, information. It's worth a trip if you want to take a short drive on a Saturday morning. They're open until 2:00.

If you go, be sure to pick up some smoked salmon at Rolf's Choice Alaskan Salmon stand--Rolf Torgerson catches Kings in Bristol Bay, has them smoked, packaged and flash-frozen by the pros, and brings them to market in 5- and 6-oz packages at prices that your supermarkets just can't match. He doesn't sell over the Internet, but you can reach him at 253-884-1055.

Across the way look for The Last Stand. Order a Slaw Dog. You'll love it, and the owner will refund your money if you don’t.

If you have to miss something, don't miss Joe Hayes's stand Eau du Joe. Joe himself will sell you his outstanding line of skin care and fragrances. “Yes, yes,” you say, "I get mine from blah blah blah.} But it's Joe himself you want to support. He's going into the fifth grade (no, it's not a typo). He understands business and how it works, and if he stays on this track he may be on the way to becoming the next Warren Buffett. My only suggestion is that he change his company name to Eau du Joey so he can use the fourth movement of Beethoven's Ninth as his theme song.
