Shahbaz? What's a shahbaz??

When I returned to Bainbridge Island nine years ago, my mother had moved into a local retirement community (read: assisted living). The care was certainly adequate, but not to her taste. Even though she was then in her early eighties, she complained that all her neighbors were old and that there weren't enough activities.

Were she alive today, she would love the fact that now there are improved facilities for our aging parents (and, we hope, for ourselves in the coming decades). They just haven't moved this far west yet.
