Concert reviews: Alexender Nevsky at Benaroya Hall

Earlier this week I posted some information about the Seattle Symphony's presentation of Alexander Nevsky. I sing with the Chorale and hope that many of you have had a chance to attend these performances.

Excerpts from the reviews:

Seattle PI: "An epic treatment of Nevsky score", by R. M. Campbell:

The playing was dynamic, detailed and clearly fit into the cinematic whole Eisenstein conceived. The Seattle Symphony Chorale was in splendid form.

Seattle Times: Alexander Nevsky: Adventure on a grand scale, By Tom Keogh

Watching [the movie] while the entire Seattle Symphony Orchestra, mezzo-soprano Kathryn Weld, conductor Xian Zhang and the Seattle Symphony Chorale recreate Sergei Prokofiev's grand score for the 1938 film is nothing less than an adventure.

Click for the complete reviews from the Seattle P-I and Times. It feels good to be appreciated.
